18 JunCrossville ECO Expo – an ongoing exhibit
We decide to make Eco Travel Plaza a destination exhibit to show people what can be done and the results. While new building improvements are valuable for conservation, there are many more opportunities with retrofitting existing structures.
We are creating a video display showing our every change: cross sections of solar panels to touch and show how they work; quantifying the carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and other particulate reductions; calculating reduced power consumption and water savings from using each appliance or system.
Our Sponsors. The project cost over the next 10 years is estimated to be $1,275,000. The following have made this project and Eco Expo possible:
- EPA – (Lifetime) – $582,000 grant
- ECO Travel Plaza / Demko Investment Group – (Lifetime) – $510,000 cost share
- AireDock / Craufurd Manufacturing – (Platinum) – $75,000 cost share
- Tennessee Solar Institute – (Platinum) – $67,000 grant
